The Senate met from 12.30pm until 1.15pm

Victorian bushfires

All other business for the day was replaced by debate on a motion moved by the Leader of the Government in the Senate (Senator Evans) about the bushfires in Victoria. The motion was agreed to and the Senate adjourned early as a mark of respect to the memory of those killed.

Sittings of the Senate

The Senate agreed to a revised motion relating to the days and hours of meeting for the remainder of the week, and the dates and times of meeting for estimates committees and committees considering legislation relating to the Nation Building and Jobs plan.
