Community Affairs Committee
Portfolios allocated: Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs; Health and Ageing
For current information about the committee's hearings
The committee met from 9.30am until 11.05pm.
The committee called the department and agencies of the Health and Ageing portfolio, including Cancer Australia, the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority, the Australian Sports Commission, the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency, the National Blood Authority and the Private Health Insurance Administration Council.
The committee will next meet on Thursday, 26 February 2009 in Senate Committee Room 2S1, calling the Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs portfolio, commencing with the department.

Portfolios allocated: Innovation; Industry, Science and Research; Resources, Energy and Tourism; Treasury

The committee called the department and agencies of the Treasury portfolio, including the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and the Australian Taxation Office.

The committee called the department and agencies of the Education, Employment and Workplace Relations portfolio, including the Office of Early Childhood Education and Child Care.
The committee will next meet on Thursday, 26 February 2009 in Senate Committee Room 2S3, again calling the department and agencies of the Education, Employment and Workplace Relations portfolio, commencing with the Workplace Ombudsman.
Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee

The committee met from 9.00am until 8.55pm.
The committee called the department and agencies of the Defence portfolio, including the Defence Materiel Organisation, Defence Housing Australia, the Department of Veterans' Affairs and the Australian War Memorial.
The committee will next meet on Thursday, 26 February 2009 in the Main Committee Room, calling the department and agencies of the Foreign Affairs and Trade portfolio, commencing with the department.
